For two weeks beginning on Wednesday, February 24, the Small Business Administration will only be accepting Paycheck Protection Program loan applications from firms with fewer than 20 employees to prevent crowding out by larger firms. New PPP changes are designed to make it easier for businesses with no employees — sole proprietors, independent contractors, and self-employed people. Minority-owned businesses are encouraged to apply within this two-week window. According to one Biden administration official, there is still $150 billion of PPP funds remaining. Be sure to check with your financial institution and /or accountant.
