COVID-19 Complicates International Business Travel

Globalization has long been the goal of many businesses. Unfortunately, with the restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, international travel, as well as the acquiring and retaining of international employees has become increasingly complicated. Organizations are now being forced to contend with variables such as: increased scrutiny during the immigration process, the need to incorporate quarantine periods into travel plans, and work visa requirements in cases where the need for travel documentation had previously been laxer. Though the rise of remote work and virtual meetings have helped ease the need for in-person employee interactions, there are still cases where companies have no choice but to navigate the new normal in the international workplace.
